A surprisingly strong Arsenal side let the home side take a lead
into half-time before going on to a 6-1 win with 2 from each of
Chris Wreh and Greg Lincoln, and one each from Jermaine Pennant and Graham Barrett.
Wreh and Stephen Hughes both played in the shop
window, I mean midfield, along with Bergkamp.
Overmars
partnered Kanu upfront, with the defence also strong
featuring
Adams, Dixon and Winterburn. New boys Luzhny, Malz
and Silvinho made only brief appearances.
Pennant underlined the quality shown in his recent England
performances, setting up Wreh's equaliser before putting us ahead
with a 20-yarder. Then Lincoln got his first, from 35 yards. Four
goals for the youngsters and none for the stars...
"Kanu out!!!", anyone? ;-)
The other good news is that Alex Manninger played, his fracture apparently healed. We may well be needing him more next
season, what with Seaman's underwater console game commitments.
