Cybury Gooners, the football team from the Arsenal mailing list made a strong start to the group stages of WorldNet 99, the annual Internet Football tournament being held this year in Leicester.
The Gooners managed a 100% record in the group stages, winning all four games without conceding a single goal, reinforcing their reputation for strong defence and occasional genius up front. The Gooners qualified comfortably for the knockout stages on day two, and even managed to eliminate Man Utd in the process! |
