Saturday 24th July 1999
The home side established a 2 goal lead in the first 10
minutes. First Aloiso scored after possibly being put through
by his team-mate's arm. Then Revelles beat Seaman in a one-on-one.
But Arsenal got their own quick couple halfway through the
first half. First Petit won the ball on the right and slipped it
inside for Kanu who showed some of his trickery in creating
space and firing home. Then we had our own bit of luck with
Ljungberg's follow-up to Kanu's saved shot being allowed
despite the Nigerian being offside.
