As you probably know, new Minister for Sport Kate Hoey
has been widely proclaimed as an Arsenal fan. She's been
critical of Manchester United recently, and so the media were
titillated by the fact that she sat next to United chairman Martin Edwards at the Charity Shield on Sunday.
Well Ms Hoey, it's time you were outed!
Warren Swaine, editor of Arsenal fanzine Up The Arse, has
found the following damning evidence in Gunners Magazine volume 1 issue 2 published in October 1994...
"Kate was born in Northern Ireland and fell in love with football as she stood on her stool cheering George Best from
the terraces of Windsor Park. Living in London she had ample opportunity to watch Arsenal, but
retained her childhood support for Manchester United."
Could it be that she's an opportunist bandwagon jumper?
Could she possibly have thought that this kind of popularist two-facedness would go down well with her New Labour leaders?
Surely not! Shame on you, Warren. ;->
