In an astounding personal attack, Nicolas Anelka blames Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein for prolonging the transfer dealings that finally brought the French striker to Real Madrid for more than £23m.

In an interview with French magazine France Football, Anelka brands Dein 'greedy' and 'an idiot'. "He's forgetting that when he took me from PSG I was under contract," Anelka said of Dein. "He did exactly the same thing as Real, but he won't admit it."
