Arsenal's honoured position as the only Premiership club to be backed by sportswear giant Nike is no more.
Leeds United announced today that they will be in Nike kit from next season, ending their current deal with Puma. The company hasn't said what money is changing hands, but The Times said this morning that it's in the region of £12m over 4 years.
Of course, Arsenal are not the only club in England to be backed by Nike: as regular readers will know, Cybury Gooners - the Arsenal e-mail list team - are the proud owners of a kit supplied by former Arsenal hero and Nike employee, Brian Marwood.
Other Nike clubs worldwide include Barcelona, Glasgow Rangers, Inter Milan, Paris Saint Germain, PSV Eindhoven and Merthyr Tydfil. Spot the odd one out. |
