The FA have confirmed that Patrick Vieira has been charged with misconduct. He has 14 days to respond. See for example, this Soccernet story. The FA cite the "alleged spitting incident" and confirmed they have been informed of a police investigation into a separate incident in the tunnel which will presumably also be used to throw the book at him. Expect a lengthy ban as he doesn't wear a red shirt with Sharp on the front.
Vieira's first response has been to issue an apology using the words inexcusable and ashamed, which Arsenal have released alongside a statement saying they don't condone his behaviour. See this AFCi page. |
