It's being reported that a German TV programme has discovered traces of a potentially deadly poison in Borussia Dortmund football shirts - manufactured by Arsenal's kit manufacturer, Nike.
The chemical in question, TBT is generally used to protect the outside of ships from barnacles, and may have serious neurological consequences for humans.
Consumer show 'Plus Minus', which airs on WDR (which you might have come across on the Sky/Astra satellite), found traces of TBT in a number of items of clothing - only one of which was Nike, so there's no suggestion that you need to fumigate your new Dreamcast home kit. Not for this reason anyway.
But Arseweb can confirm that it's been a quiet day in newsrooms across the country - and journalists everywhere were getting desperate. Confirmation - the show was broadcast on Tuesday. Read this for more - but be warned, it's in German. Alternatively here's Reuter's version, in English.
