Ok everyone, as you were. You can stop trying to decide which 5
foreign players you'd keep in the Arsenal squad.
As expected, UEFA President Lennart Johansson's plan to
re-introduce a limit on the number of foreign players
a club can have has fallen at the first hurdle.
Today's Evening Standard reports that the European Commission
have rejected UEFA's proposal. European commissioner for sport
Viviane Reding has said that she believes that UEFA now accept that the Commission cannot change the 1995 ruling
which ended the former constraints.
As an Arsenal fan, one would hope that Johansson would be pleased! |
