A 14-year-old schoolboy made history at Highbury on May 18, when he scored after only 4.07 seconds... and yes, there is video evidence to back it up.
It was the English Schools FA Heinz Ketchup Cup Final, between Ernest Bevin College of Tooting, and Barking Abbey School. You know what happens - kick off is taken by one kid, Owen Price sees the other team's keeper off his line, and boots it.
Those That Know reckon it's the fastest (verifiable) goal in European history, and the second fastest in the world ever. (A Uruguayan managed one in 2.8 seconds, according to F365!)
Bad news: it went downhill from there - Price's team lost 3:1. Even worse: F365 think he's on his way to Spurs on a controversial Pennant-style deal. |
