FSV Mainz 05 0 (0) Arsenal 2 (2).

Arsenal goals were scored by Kanu (25 mins) and Lauren (33 mins).

Mainz 05 plays in the Zweiten Bundesliga, equivalent to the English First Division. Sunday's defeat was their first in six pre-season games.

Arsenal are this week preparing for the new Premier League season in the German town of Bad Kreuznach.
