It was such a good headline, we had to use it again...
Two games in Amsterdam Arena, two defeats. This time it was the home team, Ajax putting two past Alex Manninger - thanks to Georgian international striker Shota Arveladze, shortly before half time and home-grown Brutil Hose, with a couple of minutes left.
Arseweb's committed team of newshounds was making the most of the summer break, so none of us actually saw the game (sorry!) - but according to the reports we've seen, Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp squandered a few decent chances, and Bergkamp saw a decent penalty appeal turned down - arguably we deserved to win the game, apparently.
But we didn't. C'est la vie, as Arsene would probably put it. More details from Sky Sports, the less-than-wholly-reliable Football365 and AFCi if you're so inclined.
On the bright side... David Beckham missed a penalty, as ManU lost to Bayern Munich. You gotta laugh.
