Arsenal ended their preseason campaign with a sound thrashing of lowly Stevenage Borough, seven goals to nil. Thierry Henry banged in a half-trick before 20 minutes were on the clock. There were six substitutions at half-time, and within a minute of the restart, Kanu had made it four. Ten minutes later, Bergkamp scored two in two minutes. And finally, Ray Parlour - playing a full 90 minutes, encouragingly - made it a magnificent seven on 80 mins.
It's now cross-your-fingers time, with four first-teamers playing midweek international friendlies, before the season starts next weekend at Sunderland.
