Arsenal have written to 37 fans implicated in the violence surrounding last season's UEFA Cup Final in Copenhagen, informing them that they are banned from Highbury for the season.

'The hooligans will be banned for at least one season with some barred for longer,' said an unnamed Arsenal spokesman. 'Supporters of this club are generally very well behaved and this represents a very small minority.'

Efforts are continuing to identify a number of other 'thugs' caught on camera during the trouble.
