TotalFootball magazine has published a list of
the Top 100 strikers of all time. We haven't got
a copy of the new issue yet but through ArseWeb's
affiliation with TotalFootball.com we've heard some
of the placings.
And just in case there's any doubt about the continued independence of ArseWeb, we'd just like to say that it's
a bloody disgrace.
Arsenal have 5 players in the list. They are:
- #39 Bastin
- #48 Wright
- #66 Drake
- #72 Bergkamp
- #80 Suker
Do these people watch football at all, do you think?
Have there really been 71 strikers better than Dennis?
Does Ian Wright really only scrape into the top 50?
Someone needs to be sat down with the Wrighty goals video.
Can't wait to see who they thought deserves to be up there
above these Gunners, but to do that we'll have to buy the magazine. Or wait till the website publishes
the list next week....
See this
totalfootball.com page, which also links to a poll allowing you
to choose which of a load of non-Arsenal no-marks was the best ever.
Oh, ok. Some of them were quite good. Can't see what Gary Lineker's doing there though. I'd go for Puskas. At least he was a Gooner, if never a Gunner....
