You will probably have read by now that 17 year old Arsenal defender Niccolo Galli tragically died yesterday
in a road accident in Italy.
Galli, the son of Italian goalkeeping great Giovanni Galli, was currently on loan to Bologna, where he had broken into the first team and was regarded as highly as he had become at Arsenal in his year with us. He signed for us in the summer of 99, and last season he won the U17s league and the FA Youth Cup (see report).
He was much liked, and fully expected to emulate the achievements of his father.
The thoughts of all Arsenal fans will be with Niccolo's family and friends at this time.
