Not so hard this week, you might think. But the tests were run
before the Cup Final so it wasn't just a question of
programming a computer to say, "he's thinking: 'what the f*** happened?'"
Scientists have developed a computer system called
Adaptive Brain Interface (ABI). It detects electromagnetic signals in the brain, allowing users to train the software
to enable them to move a cursor on a screen and so on.
This story from the Sunday Times reports
how the system enabled a severely disabled Londoner to type
the words "Arsenal Football Club" by the power of thought
alone. |
