A piece on the MediaGuardian website today reveals that Arsenal fans aged 11-to-14 are most likely to spend money on club merchandise... more so, gasp!, than ManU!
United come tops in terms of total numbers - but given that an unhealthy (but unsurprising) 30% of all kids in the age group claim to support them. But Arsenal come tops in terms of proportion, with 19% of all Gooners spending (parents'?) cash on replica kit and other stuff.
Arsenal kids are also the most likely to actually go to matches, with 22% actually attending football (not necessarily Arsenal games, as we read it). ManU score only 16%, Liverpool only 8%.
Gratuitous plug: If you happen to be aged 11 to 14, and reading this... tell yer mum or dad to click here and buy your Arsenal gear from Arseweb. Free postage worldwide, don't forget!
