Thanks to Ben Frost for pointing out that Channel 4 are
conducting a poll to find the "Greatest Sporting Moment" ever,
for a show to go out early next year.
Gunners fans will not be surprised that the choice is between:
- Alan Sunderland vs Man Utd, 1979
- Michael Thomas vs Liverpool, 1989
I think there are 98 other items listed, one of which could
be tempting (Denis Law's backheel for Man City which relegated
Man Utd at Old Tartford in 74).
Go to this C4 page to
see the full list and place your vote (one vote only please,
we'll condone no cheating here).
We've been told that there's a strong Man Utd bias at Channel 4,
for example in the team that make the trailers (witness the current one - with Beckham's lob against Wimbledon as the first
thing shown. How did that ever get in the list? It wasn't
half as good as Limpar's vs Liverpool). So please do vote for
whichever of Michael Thomas's goals takes your fancy.
