A piece on Onefootball.com reveals a hitherto unpublicised side to the character of Ukraine captain and occasional Arsenal defender, Oleg Luzhny.
Luzhny has apparently helped to finance the restoration of a number of the icons in a prominent Kiev church, destroyed by the Communists in 1935, and he also subsidises a canteen for the poor run by the church.
'He is a real Christian who is ready to support the poor. He is a big help in our charity work,' according to a priest at the church. Glad to see at least one Premiership player putting their wages to good use. |
