Rumour is rife that Arsenal's new shirts sponsors, when the current deal with Sega ends in the summer, are to be mmO2 (the new name for BT Cellnet).
The names previously being talked about were Coke and
Nike. The former maybe because something was already in
the air about Henry's new deal, and the latter probably
because they already make the kit.
mmO2, or BT Cellnet, or whatever, are said to be in talks with Arsenal about it, and have already announced their
intention to stop pouring money down the drain at the Cellnet (or whatever) Riverside stadium at the end of this season. Their rivals Vodafone are of course the shirt sponsors for Man Utd.
It might just be O2 on the shirts. If so, I want to stake my claim now to having been the first to think of having "be a gooner" printed under it on the front of the shirt! :-)
But credit goes to Tony Leon for wondering if our Japanese star will be renamed Junichi mmO2!
