Arsenal manager Arsčne Wenger believes the Premiership should be smaller, so there are less games played in a shorter season. However, players would then have to take a pay cut.
Wenger believes that exhaustion played a part in France's early exit in the World Cup. He supports England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson's call for fewer games in the English season. Less games in the season would mean less revenue, so Wenger deems it necessary that the players are paid less as well. The English Premiership has 20 clubs, while 14 to 18 is common in other European leagues.
