Arsenal fan and former boxer Michael Watson is running the London marathon on April 13th.
If you don't think this is newsworthy then presumably you don't know about Michael Watson.
Twelve and a half years ago the super-middleweight was in a coma following
head injuries suffered during a bout with his great rival Chris Eubank. When he collapsed after the fight everyone thought it
was exhaustion, but it turned out to be a blood clot.
He was on the verge of being declared clinically dead but has made an amazing recovery. Still, he was in a wheelchair
till little more than year ago, and can barely walk even now.
He's expecting the marathon to take him about a week.
So not only is he undertaking an incredible challenge, but he's
going to miss both the FA Cup semi and the home match against Man Utd. That kind of sacrifice has got to be worth a few bob of
any Gooner's money!
If you want to join Arseweb in sponsoring Watson in this incredible feat, please visit this webpage. Proceeds go to the Brain and Spine Foundation
which funds research and support projects and provides a national information resource for neurological disorders.
