The annual pre-season friendly against Barnet ended in a 0-0 draw. The triallists were the best players, we're told. Gael Clichy reappeared at left back, and Yaya Toure of Beveren, brother of Kolo, played in central midfield in the first half and as a striker in the second. 17 year old Dutch striker Quincy Owusu Abeyie stepped up from the scholars to earn a late appearance for Arsenal. The first teamers on parade at Underhill were Lauren, Sol Campbell, Pascal Cygan, Ray Parlour, Edu, Martin Keown and Kolo Toure. |
