A young Arsenal side almost beat Beveren of Belgium, conceding two goals in the last five minutes on Sunday. Stuart Taylor and Igors Stepanovs were the most senior Arsenal players on the pitch. The Gunners' goals were scored by left winger Nicky Nicolau and substitute striker Quincy Owusu Abeyie, while Constant Kaïper and former Arsenal triallist Gilles Yapi Yapo got the Belgian feeder club's goals.
