Two men were detained by police yesterday in connection with the ongoing investigation into the floodlight failures during two Premiership games in late 1997. 'One was detained in connection with a match between West Ham and Crystal Palace on 3 November,' said a Scotland Yard spokesman, 'and the other in connection with a game between Wimbledon and Arsenal on 22 December.' Both were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, and were released on police bail to return to London's Charing Cross police station in mid-April.
