UEFA officials have recently visited Highbury to determine their requirements in terms of seats and advertising and, as predicted,
some Season Ticket holders are going to have to move seats for the home games this season. Everyone to whom this applies should be receiving a letter to that effect from the club at the end of this week. We hope no-one is too disappointed with their reallocation, but we're confident that Season Ticket holders will be happy that Wembley's not available this year. We suspect that, follwoing the debacle of the last 2 seasons' showings, even those who can't get to the games because they're at Highbury instead of Wembley will be pleased with the move home.
Season Ticket books will not be valid. As per Wembley tickets in previous seasons, the club will be sending the 3 tickets for first group stage Champions League home games. They should be arriving in a couple of weeks (a week or so before the first match).
See this AFCi page for more.
Important dates:
- 25th August (this Friday) - draw for first stage groups
- 31st August (next Thursday) - transfer deadline
- 12th or 13th September - first match
See Europe page for full schedule.
Leeds play the second leg of their qualifier this evening,
taking a 2-1 lead to Munich. Galatasaray played their second leg last night, and their 2-2 draw means they're through to the draw for groups. Let's hope UEFA's experieneced draw-fixers see sense and keep us apart! |
