Bayern Munich have asked for their Champions League matches
to be put forward an hour. So far they've been kicking-off at 8.45 their time, and have been having problems getting the fans along. They want all their games moved forward to 7.45, which would be 6.45 in England.
Arsenal will resist moving the time of the game at Highbury on December 5th, but there are precedents, and it seems likely that Bayern will at least be allowed to move their home games forward.
One of those precedents is the case of Spartak Moscow.
I heard on the radio today that our next champs league game, in Moscow
on 22nd November, will be starting at 5.00pm UK time (waiting for confirmation of that - it would at least mean that our game wouldn't clash with Leeds vs Real, raising the possibility of both being covered live on terrestrial UK telly).
Apparently Bayern are also pushing for the second group stage
to be replaced by a straight knockout. Seems a bit late to me,
but it's nice to know that at least one of Europe's big clubs
has enough money already. It's no good for Arsenal, we've got a stadium to pay for....
