The details of the draw for phase two of the Champions League are in - and yes, it's the usual dog's dinner.
The sixteen qualifiers are seeded into four pots of four, with one team from each pot going into each four-team group. But teams are likely to be shuffled from group to group as the draw proceeds - as teams from the same country cannot be grouped together, and teams who met in the first phase cannot be grouped together again.
The four pots are as follows:
1: Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus
2: Liverpool, Deportivo, Nantes, Panathinaikos
3: Arsenal, Man Utd, Galatasaray, Porto
4: Roma, Bayer Leverkusen, Sparta Prague, Boavista
All we can say so far is that Arsenal will definitely be grouped with either Nantes or Deportivo from pot 2 - both teams we saw off en route to the UEFA Cup final in 1999-2000, largely thanks to thumping home wins. It goes without saying that we also avoid Galatasaray - something many Gooners will have looked for first!
It all happens on Friday morning at Geneva's Noga Hilton hotel, with ceremonial proceedings beginning at 11am UK time (expect the draw to start well after that!). Live coverage on Eurosport.
