With Man Utd and Newcastle both coming through their qualifiers this week, the competition will feature 4 teams from England for the first time. The draw will be fixed so that the 4 teams will be split into two pairs as regards what nights the games are on (this will give ITV the possibility of showing them all on ITV1 and ITV2, although we don't know yet what their plans are). The 4 teams will be drawn into 4 different groups.

Other clubs to come through the qualifiers include Barcelona, Dynamo Kiev, Bayern Munich, Milan and Inter. Celtic fell at the first hurdle, going out on away goals to Basel.
