Inter come to Highbury tomorrow without Christian Vieri, who is injured along with Uruguayan Alvaro Recoba. That's 2 of their biggest stars out, and of course they just lost Hernan Crespo to Chelski.
Their strike force is expected to consist of 2 from Julio Ricardo Cruz (Argentine), Obafemi Martins (Nigerian), and Mohammed Kallon (from Sierra Leone). Not names that I know, I have to admit, but I dare say Inter aren't going to be employing many mugs!
Martin Keown will be hoping for a place up against them, and it's possible that Wenger will go with his experience alongside Sol. But my gut feeling is that he'll stick with the settled pairing of Toure and Campbell. Kolo may be less experienced but he fully deserved his player-of-the-month award for August. Who'd have thought a few weeks ago that it couldd be him keeping Keown out?
Bergkamp is another oldie who'll be hoping to get a game. It'd be understandable if he felt he had something to prove against the team where he had the only dodgy spell of his career. But, again, I can't help feeling that Wenger will start with the current internationals.
Freddie and Gilberto are expected to come back into the midfield. So really the Keown/Toure and Bergkamp/Wiltord issues are the only question marks.
Inter have a 100% record in Serie A, but that's just from 2 matches and they haven't particularly impressed so far (apparently). Players that we will recognise include Kily Gonzalez, Emre, the keeper Toldo, and defender Marco Materazzi, who apparently is enjoying being thought of as a bit of a hard man in Italy these days. The evil former Evertonian says, "The only thing that could hurt me is people claiming I am evil."
