If Eboue doesn't make it, there are 2 choices: replace him with Johan Djourou, or move Kolo Toure to right back and bring Sol Campbell back in. Sacrificing Toure's strength and pace, risking a player in Sol whose match fitness cannot have been proven yet, these do not seem like Arsene Wenger. Eboue or Djourou it is.

The only other question, is who plays in our 5 man midfield. Freddie Ljungberg is available again, so will he replace one of Robert Pires, Alexander Hleb, or Jose Antonio Reyes? I'd like to think not, since they're all on top form at the moment. The Sun, apparently, is reporting that Freddie will come straight in for Bobby, and that this spells the end of Bobby's Arsenal career. That's the Sun for you.

Incidentally, the other latest gossip about Bobby is that the rags are saying he's moving to Villareal, some even going so far as to say that he's signed a pre-contract with them. He could do this, since his contract with us is up at the end of the season, but has not done so, because he'd be stupid to. Strange coincidence that it's Villareal that we'll be meeting in the Champs League semi-final if we get through tonight. So lucky for the tabloids that it makes a better story of Bobby's impending move.

Anyway, back to the midfield: there's no way Hleb will drop out for Freddie, not just because of his form but also because he was rested for Saturday's demolition of Villa. For me, Freddie's inclusion would mean a toss-up between Bobby and Jose, and whichever 2 of these play, they'll do a fine job I'm sure.

Up front we have good cover for Thierry Henry in the form of Robin van Persie. Theo Walcott will be on the bench but obviously this is too big a game to bring him in to. I can't see him playing for us this season unless we get to a point where we're safe for 4th in the league, not so long as we have other options for the bench in the league (where sub numbers are restricted).

We discussed Juve's squad options yesterday. In brief: Nedved in, but Del Piero out along with the banned players from the first leg (Vieira, Camoranesi, Zlebini).

Juve coach Fabio Capello has been saying that they need a miracle, and he's not far wrong. They need to score a minimum of 2 goals against Arsenal tonight to go through, and if they concede just one then they'll need to double that to 4.

In 9 Champs League games so far this season, Arsenal have conceded a total of 2 goals.

This superb defensive record will be a big part of the reason we're doing so well in the UEFA rankings. The Gunners currently sit on top of the UEFA rankings list, ahead of Lyon, Barcelona, Internazionale, Milan, Real Madrid....

You name 'em, UEFA say we're better than 'em. The next English team to appear in the list is Middlesbrough at 13th (which kind of takes the shine off of our 1st place) then there's Liverpool and Chelsea, joint placed at 20th. I'd like to tell you where Manchester United are, but they're not listed in the top 30.

Finally, for those interested in omens (I know you're out there, I can feeeeel it), the official Juventus site says that tonight's German referee, 42 year old Herbert Fandel, has officiated at 2 Juventus games in the past. In both, they did score the 2 goals that they need tonight. But both games finished as 2-2 draws.
