Returning stars could bolster Arsenal defence by Rupe

Arsenal face CSKA at home tonight, looking to reverse the injustice of the last match when Thierry Henry's late equaliser was chalked off thanks to a mysterious 'handball' decision. That result took CSKA top of the table, and with Porto playing struggling Hamburg tonight a loss is likely to see us drop to 3rd place.

Justin Hoyte is a doubt having limped out of the Everton match early on Saturday, and faces a late test. With Emmanuel Eboue still out for at least a game or two, and Lauren's comeback set back till the New Year, that leaves us a bit short at right back. Flamini could play there (he initially replaced Hoyte on Saturday), and has to be more likely than the less defensively-minded Theo Walcott who finished that game in that position. It's also possible that one or more of Gael Clichy and Phillipe_Senderos will be used, both being back from injury but not having been considered ready for first team action until this moment. Does Gallas play right back too?

Freddie Ljungberg, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Julio Baptista are all still out (see official injury updates), so the front 6 is likely to remain unchanged.

CSKA have a fitness doubt over Brazilian striker Vagner Love, but he's expected to make it. They're strong in defence so don't be surprised by another night of frustration, especially if we let the opposition score first again.
