Champs League draw possibilities by Rupe

Following last night's draw with Porto, Arsenal go through to the knockout stages as group winners. Here are the runners up from the group stage, which we could face when the draw in conducted on Friday week (at 11am, if I've worked out the time zones right).

Barcelona
Real Madrid
PSV Eindhoven
Internazionale
Roma
Celtic
Lille

Ok, so we'll be at home in the second leg, which is a slight advantage. But let's not pretend that that's going to worry Real, Barca, or Inter too much. So, should we be glad about winning the group? Here are the group winners.

Bayern Munich
Valencia
Milan
Lyon
Manchester United
Liverpool
Chelsea

We can't be drawn against an English team (in this round only). Not a lot in it really I suppose, at least in the first list there are 2, 3, maybe 4 sides that we'd definitely be expecting an on-form Arsenal to beat. The thing is, we're not on form. If we'd won the group in style it'd be something to be pleased about. These matches won't start till the 21st February, so we do at least have a bit of time to pick up form and confidence. And, at the end of the day, we're through. Arsenal have a tradition of a few years now of finding it more difficult when things are less pressured - as seen by our cup successes and scrapings through of the group stages. Things can and will get better.

Final standings for all groups, and other stuff from the rest of the competition, can be found on the UEFA site.
