Stop nicking our kids, say French govt by Simon
on 16/2/99 at 09:49
this is story 9 of 104 in this topic to date
The French Sports Minister, Marie-Georges Buffet is apparently about to introduce two laws to stop foreign clubs (ie. Arsene Wenger) stealing the country's young talent, according to a piece in today's PA/SL/Mirror. 'We know that in soccer circles there are people who spot young talent and get involved in trafficking,' she is quoted. 'The first law will ban all commercial transactions involving minors in sport. And the second will mean that players at youth academies will have to sign their first contract with the club that has trained them.'
