Rohan Ricketts and Jermaine Pennant both started for the England under 18 team in a European championship intermediate qualifier against Poland at White Hart Lane last night. The young Poles nicked the game with a late winner, after a generally unimpressive performance from England. By all accounts and from the little I saw of the match (on TV) Pennant was England's most dangerous attacker. One brilliant run in the 2nd half deserved a goal, but he snatched at the shot somewhat and the keeper made a good save. See this report on the FA site for more. The return leg is in Poland on 26 April, the winners qualifying for the finals in Finland during the summer.
