Former Arsenal goalkeeper Alan Miller has been forced to retire due to a back injury. A statement from Arsenal.com read:
Former Arsenal goalkeeper Alan Miller has retired from the game at the age of 33 with a back injury. "When I got the injury I knew it was quite serious," he said. "I went for a scan and it showed up quite a few problems. I had an operation on my back about 10 or 11 years ago and that went well but this was in the same area and when I knew that I didn't want it operating on again. I had no real choice but to call it a day, which is very sad, but it happens to a lot of players and you've just got to try and stay positive about it." Miller turned professional at Highbury in 1988 and made nine appearances for the first team before moving to Middlesbrough in 1994. He joined West Brom in 1997 and moved on to Blackburn three years later. Miller spent much of his career on loan and played for 11 different clubs before his retirement.
Everyone here at ArseWeb wishes Alan the best of luck with his future career. |
