In brief: Arsenal will field an unchanged side from the team that thrashed Man City at the weekend.
Only kidding. We could actually see a totally changed side. Wear your replica shirt, you could get a game.
It's going to be fun and interesting to see some of the reserves on the (slightly) bigger stage. Now that Arsenal don't force season-ticket holders to buy tickets (at full price), the policy of fielding reserves in the League Cup doesn't grate any more.
And basically, your guess is as good as mine. Fringe players Pennant and Malz
must be good bets, together with new boy Stepanovs and returning long-term injury victim Matty Upson. The player I'm most keen to get a look at is midfielder David Noble.
And what about Carlin Itonga, who recently put 7 past Ipswich in an U19 match?
Ipswich have no injury worries that I'm aware of. It's worth noting that they left out some first-choice players in both legs of their win over Millwall in the last round.
Oh yeah, nearly forgot....Gilles Grimandi is suspended for this one. |
