It is being reported that, as suspected, Stepanovs
and Upson will form the central defensive partnership
for tomorrow. Good to see Matty back in the first team, let's
hope he stays injury-free, and realises his potential.
Stuart Taylor will be in goal, and there will also
be places for Ashley Cole and Jermaine Pennant.
The report, from PA, also says that Paolo Vernazza will play, which undermines either the rest of this story, or reports from 2 weeks ago that Vernazza had joined Rhys Weston on loan to Cannes. Or maybe he's come back already. Or maybe PA are just guessing.
The other Arsenal names are probably right, anyway.
They also report,as predicted, that Ipswich are to rest
some first-teamers too. Not so many, I should think!
The names given are Jim Magilton, Mark Venus, Richard Naylor, and James Scowcroft. Apparently
Titus Bramble, Martijn Reuser and David Johnson are all set for recalls. "It's a squad game these days. Like any Premiership
side, the League is our priority, but we will still be putting out a side to
try and win," said manager George Burley. Yikes!
