It may or may not be a good thing... but Arsenal have been drawn against Manchester United as the big guns make their first appearances in this year's Worthington Cup.
Of course, United have (notoriously) treated the competition with something less than top priority... and Arsene Wenger hasn't always picked a first-choice XI either.
Arguably, it gives both teams a crack at each other, in the hope of a psychological boost. But we can't help feeling it could end up a bit of a reserve fixture, with the loser (whoever it may be) able to hold their head reasonably high afterwards.
The rest of the ties in this round will be played on (or about) Wednesday 10 October. But United's postponed European game has been move to that week, so our match is expected to take place in
the week of November 5th (according to the official Man U site).
There's plenty of time as the 4th round isn't till Nov 28th.
Not sure if this makes televisualisation of the tie more or less likely.
