'Nino' as he is nicknamed started his professional career with Rennes as a left winger before he was given a striker role at Bordeaux. An opportunist forward, he has pace, stamina and a good shot. Sometimes spectacular, you can see that he enjoys playing football. He' s also not reluctant to defend, very lively on the break but must improve his heading.
You might have noticed his meagre goal-ratio during his last season for Rennes : That was 'simply' due to the fact he was already showing his sulky (some say he is a rebel, what he denies to be) nature by not giving 100% in a bid to force a deal whereas Rennes didn' t want to part with him. At that time was signed the (in)famous contract with La Coruna before they released him to Bordeaux for less than £2m plus 50% of his future transfer fee, should it been signed before June 31st, 2001. He runs his own company "W" to promote his public image and was often seen during his extended holidays (when not training) alongside his mates LeBrat, Bob and Titi.
