Arsenal's Ashley Cole left the field after only 17 minutes as England drew 1-1 in Portugal.

Cole was replaced by Chelsea rival Wayne Bridge at left back because of a back strain.

Gilberto Silva was subbed after only 14 minutes in Brazil's 0-0 draw with Ireland. The midfielder succumbed to an ankle injury.

"I think it felt worse than it was," Gilberto told the BBC.

"I got two knocks on the ankle. Once I got off the pitch I felt a little bit better."

Both players may miss the away game against Chelsea on Saturday.
