| Bergkamp reaffirms desire to end it at Highbury |

Dennis Bergkamp has reiterated his desire to end his career at Arsenal.
"In my mind I don’t want to go to any other club. If it will not be here it will not be anywhere."
This comes after rumours that he might be going back to Holland in the summer, with a couple of clubs sticking their oars in, just in case.
But Dennis's statement suggests that he'll accept whatever offer the club seems likely to make of a one year extension, even if
it means having to accept fewer games. I like to think that he'll
enjoy being around to see someone like van Persie step into his boots. And of course, it makes the realisation more likely of a dream so many Gooners will have been having: a star-studded Bergkamp testimonial as the game at which we wave goodbye to Highbury. Bloody hell, there'd be some tears that night.... |
