Arsenal have sent defender Igors Stepanovs on loan to Beveren in Belgian football. The club had Graham Stack and John Halls on loan last season. The Latvian international 'has struggled to make a first-team impact since moving to Highbury', Ananova reports. That's an understatement. Poor Stepanovs has delivered the goods when called upon, but will always be remembered for losing 1-6 at Old Trafford. Some say he lost the game single-handedly, but that's harsher than he deserves. Still, a future as fourth or fifth choice in central defence isn't on the cards. Expect a permanent move soon. |
