In the first permanent departure of the transfer window, Brazilian full back Juan has left Arsenal and returned to his homeland.
The player himself is said to have been keen to go back to Brazil, following a disappointing spell in England. He looked promising in the reserves in his first season after arriving in May 2001, then missed a lot of the next season's campaign with a cruciate ligament injury. He started this season with a 3 month loan spell at Millwall which didn't really work out for him, and went for a trial at PSV in November.
Fluminese have signed him, apparently for nothing but with a sell-on clause that means Arsenal will make some money if he moves on again in the near future. |
