We're just in the process of getting things set up again for the new season. Nicely refreshed after a wonderful short break in Andalusia (anyone wanting a nice holiday and to learn a bit of Spanish in the meantime... we highly recommend Instituto Mediterraneo Sol in Granada - not an ad just a genuine tip).
The Calendar for 2004-05 is ready already, and we're hoping to have some reports from the Amsterdam tournament soon after the matches. Look out for a couple of competitions soon too.
Some interesting transfers have slipped by while we've been away. The long-anticipated signing of Manuel Almunia happened last week. The 27-year old former Celta Vigo keeper is expected to be our new number 2 behind Jens Lehmann. He spent all 3 seasons of his time at Celta loaned elsewhere: the last one at Albacete, playing a significant part in their escaping relegation (as Celta Vigo plummeted). He signed a long-term contract with the Gunners for an undisclosed fee, which is actually thought to consist of Arsenal reducing Celta's outstanding debt to us from the purchase of Silvinho.
