The possibility of Jose Antonio Reyes moving to Madrid has been raised again, but it's not Real this time. Atletico_Madrid yesterday
claim that they "have made an important offer" and are waiting to hear back from Arsenal.
Last night after the Dinamo Zagreb game, Arsene Wenger responded quickly to the rumours, saying that "nothing serious is happening on that front". This could just mean that Atletico's offer wasn't thought to be realistic, which would put it on a par with Real's.
Rumour has it that their offer was around £8m, putting it a good few million short of Arsenal's valuation. And today their director of Sport seems to be saying they've given up, having been quoted as saying, "Our proposition was presented to Arsenal last week, but the English club have not moved forward. The situation is complicated by the financial differences between the two clubs. Now the operation has stopped and we are studying other options." Doesn't seem all that complicated really.
Looks like Jose will probably be staying, and we're going to have to get used to constant rumour about him leaving.
