TeamTalk reckon Nicolas Anelka's move to Lazio is on track. They say he's off to Rome to discuss terms, and quote him as saying"Lazio
are a prestigious club and their squad is full of star players.
I like their coach Sven Goran Eriksson, who has been successful
wherever he has worked. I still need to clarify my situation at
Arsenal, then I will make up my mind."
So it looks like maybe Wenger and/or David Dein has explained to Anelka that the Highbury pitch would freeze over before he gets a move from us to Real bloody Madrid. Bye-bye Nicky.
Can we start spending the money now, please?
Meanwhile, Dein has been explaining how Arsenal are doing
football a favour by taking a firm line with Anelka. See
Football365.
The suggestion there is that Dein is yet to meet with Anelka, but it's not clear when the quotes were quoth.
