Hopes and predictions that the Anelka saga would be finished one
way or another by the end of this week were dashed today.
Soccernet say Dein and Wenger are in negotiation with Lazio still, and focus on the great deal Nic would be getting in Rome. They also
have Wenger saying he hopes it'll all be sorted by July 10th
("when the international players join up with the rest of the squad", interesting
news for those with tickets for Borehamwood on the 9th).
However, elsewhere the same people tell us that the Lazio chairman
is still
waiting to hear from Arsenal, and he's gone off to
his boat for the weekend.
Football 365 have Claude Anelka saying that his brother will go on strike (yawn) if Arsenal try to block his move to
Lazio ! He even has the cheek to suggest that Arsenal should start behaving like adults.
