Although he reaffirmed lately he would enjoy (please note : not love) playing at Highbury, it looks now less than certain he will join us in a next future. The reason is, according to today' s France Football, that the Board and notably Arsène are not that impressed by the 27 year-old midfielder. The usually well-informed paper added Mr. le Boss rang Pires to tell him so.
Press also report Arsenal are tracking goalkeeper Lionel Letizi who, after 4 years spent at Metz wishes to leave on condition he will be given the n°1 shirt at his new club. FC Metz are asking £5 million to let him go, a sum judged excessive by Arsenal. |
